Kintyre Way Ultramarathon/Cycle

2017 saw the inaugural staging of the Kintyre Way Ultra bike race, a 73 mile epic which contained 7000 feet of vertical climbing and showcased all of the incredible scenery that the Kintyre Way has to offer.
Tarbert to Campbeltown along the Kintyre Way is one of Scotland’s most scenic long-distance paths – this is serious trail running in idyllic surroundings. With varied terrain from hill paths and forestry tracks to beaches and seaside rocks, you’ll have stunning scenery with views across the sea to Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha at various times. The cycle option beginning at Tarbert covers 75 miles.
In 2017, the Ultra Cycle was conceived. This gave cyclists a 73 mile route from Corranbuie to Campbeltown over a mixture of tough terrain and road. In 2018, the Start is being moved closer to Tarbert, making it 75 miles.
